I’ve always been someone who sees the world a little differently. As someone with ADHD, I understand what it’s like to have a busy mind, to feel pulled in a hundred directions, and to try to make sense of patterns that don’t always feel straightforward. That perspective is something I bring into my work every day. I also grew up naturally trying to understand others and helping where I could—something that continues to shape how I show up as a therapist.
I’m deeply dedicated to my clients—not just in showing up, but in truly being present, engaged, and invested in their growth. I don’t believe in passive therapy. I believe in working with you to understand what’s going on beneath the surface and helping you create real, meaningful change. My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in creating a space where you feel safe, respected, and able to show up as your full self. In addition to my clinical work, I’m also a professor and the owner and primary supervisor at Path to Change Counseling, which means I’m constantly learning, teaching, and refining how to better support the people I work with.
Outside of therapy, I’m a bit of a nerd—in the best way. I’m tattooed, a little quirky, and unapologetically myself. I love comics, anime, and cosplay, and I’m almost always reading something related to psychology. You’ll also find me at events like Fan Expo, where I enjoy presenting, connecting with others, and bringing mental health into spaces that don’t always talk about it.
I believe it’s important to show up as a real person, not just a therapist—and I want you to feel like you can do the same.
I provide affirming, inclusive care for LGBTQIA+ individuals, kink/BDSM communities, and nontraditional relationships—creating a space where your identity and experiences are understood, respected, and supported. I have experience working with a range of concerns, with a focus on helping clients understand patterns, process experiences, and create meaningful change. Areas I commonly work with include:
“I don’t believe in therapy that goes in circles.”
I take an active, structured approach focused on helping you understand what’s actually driving your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors—and how to change them.
I incorporate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and exposure-based work. In simple terms, this means we’re not just talking about what’s going on—we’re actively working to understand it, build new skills, and create real, lasting change in your daily life.
Therapy with me is not passive. I won’t just sit back, nod, or ask the same questions without direction. I’m engaged, present, and honest. I’ll help you identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, challenge you when it’s helpful, and support you in making changes that actually move your life forward.
At the same time, I believe change doesn’t happen without feeling understood. I focus heavily on validation, support, and creating a space where you feel respected and able to be fully yourself. You won’t be judged here—you’ll be met with curiosity, honesty, and care.
I work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families using a trauma-informed approach. This means we move at a pace that feels safe, while still working toward meaningful progress. I understand that your experiences have shaped how you think, feel, and respond, and we’ll take the time to make sense of those patterns together.
My goal is for you to leave sessions not just feeling heard, but with greater clarity, practical tools, and a clearer sense of direction. Therapy should feel like it’s helping—not just in the moment, but in your everyday life.
Here’s how therapy with me typically works
1. I start by understanding your story
I take time to explore what’s bringing you in, your current challenges, and your history. My goal is to see the bigger picture—not just what’s happening, but why it’s happening.
2. I identify patterns and what’s keeping you stuck
I help you connect the dots between your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and past experiences so we can uncover the patterns driving your struggles.
3. I clarify your diagnosis when appropriate
I assess your symptoms and patterns to provide a clear diagnosis when helpful. This gives us direction and helps guide the most effective treatment approach.
4. I develop a clear, structured treatment plan
I work with you to identify what needs to change and create a focused plan so therapy feels intentional and goal-driven—not open-ended.
5. I help define meaningful goals
I guide the process of setting clear, measurable goals so we know what progress looks like and can track real change over time.
6. I use evidence-based therapies tailored to you
I integrate approaches like CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, and trauma-focused therapies based on what will be most effective for your needs.
7. I teach practical tools you can use in your daily life
I help you build skills to manage emotions, improve communication, handle stress, and respond differently in real-world situations.
8. I challenge you while supporting your growth
I am direct and honest. I will point out patterns, challenge what isn’t working, and push you when needed—while also supporting you through the process.
9. I track progress and adjust treatment as needed
I regularly assess progress, revisit goals, and adjust the plan to make sure therapy continues to move you forward.
Overall
You can expect clarity, structure, and direction. My goal is to help you understand what’s keeping you stuck and actively work toward meaningful, lasting change—not just conversation.
You may not feel this way right now—and that’s okay. Most people I work with come in feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to change what keeps happening.
Over time, things start to shift. Not all at once, but in ways you can actually feel in your day-to-day life—especially when you’re willing to show up, be honest, and put in the work between sessions.
This process isn’t passive. Real change happens when you’re willing to do the work—and I’ll guide you every step of the way.
This isn’t about becoming someone completely different. It’s about finally not feeling stuck in the same place anymore.
“Finding the right therapist matters—and the right fit can make all the difference.”
If you’re ready for therapy that is intentional, structured, and focused on real, lasting change, I’d be happy to help you move forward.
