Ms. Melike Emeksiz, M.S.

Hi, I’m Melike Emeksiz. I am a bilingual therapist (English and Turkish) with a strong passion for working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. As a bilingual therapist, I know how important it is to talk about your feelings in the language that feels most natural to you. When you don’t have to explain your words or culture, it’s easier to feel seen and understood. I want to give you a safe, welcoming space where you can be yourself—without needing to translate who you are.

Over the years, I’ve had the honor of working with people at many different stages of life. As a school-based therapist, I supported children and teens as they learned how to manage big feelings, deal with school pressure, adjust to family changes, and build healthy friendships. I partnered closely with caregivers and teachers to create consistent, caring support both in and out of the classroom. Those early years taught me how important it is for young people to feel seen, understood, and empowered—even when they don’t yet have all the words to explain what’s going on insidIn my private practice, I work with individuals, couples, and families facing a wide range of challenges—like relationship conflict, anxiety, grief, identity struggles, and big life transitions. Whether someone is feeling overwhelmed by emotion, stuck in patterns that no longer serve them, or simply looking for clarity, I create a space where we can slow down, get curious, and explore what’s really going on underneath the surface.

In addition, I’ve also led workshops and seminars for young adults, newlyweds, educators, and new moms. These group settings are some of my favorite ways to bring people together—offering support, reflection, and real connection during seasons that can feel both exciting and overwhelming.

As a therapist, I’m passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where you feel truly heard and accepted. I believe therapy should feel like a real connection—human to human—where your story is held with care, curiosity, and compassion.

I work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families who are looking for support, understanding, and real change. With children, I focus on helping them manage big feelings, build confidence, and feel more secure at home and in school. I partner with parents along the way, because healing happens best when we work together. With teens, I offer a space where they can be themselves—exploring identity, managing stress, and navigating relationships without judgment. I also support adults who may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, grieving, or simply looking for clarity and direction. With couples, I help partners reconnect, improve communication, and strengthen their bond. And when I work with families, I guide them through challenges so they can feel more connected, understood, and supported as a unit. No matter where you are in your journey, my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and ready to take the next step.

My therapeutic style is collaborative, respectful, and client-centered. I draw from approaches such as Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Collaborative Therapy, which allow me to honor your expertise in your own life while helping you uncover strengths, new meanings, and preferred directions. I also integrate more structured, evidence-based models like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)—especially when addressing issues such as anxiety, emotional regulation, and negative thought patterns. I tailor my approach to fit your goals, always prioritizing your voice in the process.
