Building the Life You Want

About Me

Hi, I’m Megan, and I’m glad you’re here.

Seeking support is an act of courage. The fact that you’re here tells me that, despite whatever challenges you may be facing, there is a part of you that believes life can feel different than it does today. That part of you deserves to be heard, understood, and cared for.

I believe healing happens when we feel safe enough to explore our experiences and supported enough to move toward something different. My goal is to create a space where you feel accepted exactly as you are while empowering you to grow, heal, and reconnect with yourself.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I specialize in EMDR and somatic therapy, helping clients heal not only through insight and understanding, but by addressing the ways painful experiences become stored within the mind, body, and nervous system. I also have a passion for helping clients explore the ways trauma, identity, sexuality, and relationships intersect, recognizing that healing is rarely limited to one area of our lives.

Who I Help

I work primarily with adolescents and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, and concerns related to intimacy, sexuality, and identity. I also enjoy working with couples seeking greater connection, healing, and understanding.

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, stuck in painful patterns, or frustrated that they understand why they feel the way they do but still struggle to move forward. Others are exploring questions related to identity, sexuality, relationships, or recovering from experiences that have left them feeling unsafe in their bodies or disconnected from others.

Whatever brings you here, I strive to provide an affirming, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where you can show up fully as yourself and begin creating meaningful, lasting change.

Specialties

EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps the brain and body heal from distressing experiences. Trauma and painful life events can become "stuck," continuing to influence how we think, feel, relate to others, and move through the world.

EMDR helps process these experiences in a way that reduces emotional distress, challenges negative beliefs, and creates lasting change. I have pursued advanced training in utilizing EMDR with complex trauma, childhood trauma, attachment wounds, grief and mourning, adult survivors of childhood abuse and neglect, childhood sexual abuse survivors, and concerns related to sexuality and sexual health.

Somatic Therapy

Healing is not just a cognitive process. Our experiences are carried within our nervous systems and bodies, often long after we consciously understand them.

Somatic therapy focuses on the mind-body connection, helping clients develop awareness of physical sensations, regulate their nervous systems, and process emotions and experiences that may feel difficult to put into words. By integrating somatic approaches into therapy, clients often experience greater emotional regulation, deeper self-awareness, and a renewed sense of safety and connection with themselves.

Sex Therapy

Sexuality is a natural and important part of the human experience, yet many people carry shame, confusion, anxiety, or unresolved trauma related to sex and intimacy.

I provide a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space to explore concerns related to intimacy, desire, sexual functioning, communication, sexual identity, pleasure, relationship dynamics, and the impact of trauma on sexuality. Whether you're navigating sexual challenges, healing from past experiences, or seeking greater connection with yourself or your partner, therapy can provide a space for understanding, growth, and healing.

LGBTQIA+ Affirming care

I am committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where individuals of all identities and relationship structures feel seen, respected, and valued.

I understand that identity, sexuality, relationships, family dynamics, and cultural experiences can deeply shape how we move through the world and how we experience mental health. My approach is affirming, collaborative, and grounded in respect for your lived experience. Whether you are exploring your identity, navigating life transitions, processing trauma, or simply looking for a therapist who understands and affirms who you are, I strive to create a space where you can show up authentically and feel genuinely supported.

My Therapy Style

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique experiences, values, and goals.

I blend EMDR, somatic therapy, cognitive approaches, and sex therapy principles to provide care that addresses the whole person—not just symptoms. I believe lasting healing happens when we attend to both the mind and body, honor the impact of our relationships and identities, and create space for every part of ourselves to be understood with compassion.

Therapy with me is not about "fixing" who you are. It's about helping you better understand yourself, heal from painful experiences, strengthen your relationships, and reconnect with the life you want to live.

My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you feel safe enough to explore, supported enough to grow, and empowered enough to create lasting change.
